The 2025 Toyota Corolla Hybrid rolls into the new model year with a $24,760 base price and a larger infotainment touchscreen for higher trim levels.

The base price, which includes a $1,135 destination charge, applies to the base LE grade. This version continues with the previous 8.0-inch touchscreen, while a new 10.5-inch screen is now optional on the SE grade and standard on the top XLE grade, which are priced at $27,200 and $29,125 with destination, respectively.

Other aspects of this compact sedan carry over from the previous model year. A 1.8-liter inline-4 running on the efficiency-focused Atkinson cycle works with Toyota's familiar two-motor, planetary-gear-based hybrid system to deliver 138 hp. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available on the LE and SE grades for an additional $1,400.

Toyota estimates EPA fuel economy of 50 mpg combined (53 mpg city, 46 mpg highway) for LE and XLE models, and 47 mpg combined (50 mpg city, 43 mpg highway) for SE models. All-wheel drive causes fuel economy to dip a bit to 48 mpg combined (51 mpg city, 44 mpg highway) for LE models and 44 mpg combined (47 mpg city, 41 mpg highway) for all-wheel drive models.

The Corolla Hybrid arrived for the 2020 model year, but received a significant update for 2023 that saw the addition of the all-wheel drive option and a boost in power. At the time, we found the all-wheel drive Corolla Hybrid to be a delightfully capable miser.

Toyota receives fresh competition for 2025 in the form of the revived 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid, costs $29,845 and gets 49 mpg combined in sedan form. Unlike the Corolla, the Civic Hybrid is also available as a hatchback, although Toyota has the Corolla Cross Hybrid crossover to fill that niche. Another alternative is the 2025 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid sedan, which starts at $26,250 and is rated at 54 mpg combined.
